Zoom Chats What is a Zoom chat? A Zoom chat is a meeting where concerned citizens, volunteers, activists, group leaders meet on Zoom calls to get to know other people socially. Who are these chats for? What we have in common is that we are active in our communities. What are the objectives? to build capacity in voluntary and non-profit organizations to rebuild the social fabric in neighbourhoods through creating weak ties to build trust to share information to see and be seen, to listen and be heard to reduce isolation to increase well-being to learn new things to co-create meaning to make sense of what’s going on What is the format? The format is semi-structured: People on the email list (manually run, no Mailchimp) will get periodic invitations to Zoom chats. The invitation will include the proposed initial topic and perhaps a paragraph or two to read in advance. Participants will spend most of the time in breakout rooms with two or three other people, with discussion questions to get you started.
